Position Summary

The Regional Vice President of Accounting & Finance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all financial management reporting and compliance functions across a portfolio of hotels within the region. This role ensures alignment with Blue Sky Hospitality Managements financial objectives brand standards and ownership expectations. The Regional VP partners closely with property-level and corporate teams to optimize profitability safeguard assets and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Provide financial leadership direction and support to property Directors of Finance Controllers and accounting teams.

  • Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support the companys growth and profitability goals.

  • Analyze market trends forecasts and economic indicators to inform business decisions.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Oversee preparation review and consolidation of annual budgets forecasts and long-range financial plans for assigned hotels.

  • Monitor performance against budgets identifying risks and opportunities to improve financial outcomes.

  • Provide actionable insights through analysis of financial results labor costs operating expenses and capital projects.

Operational & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP internal controls and corporate policies as well as hotel brand standards.

  • Direct and review month-end closings balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting packages.

  • Partner with auditors tax advisors and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with local state and federal requirements.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor and develop property-level finance leaders fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships with Regional VPs of Operations General Managers and ownership groups.

  • Support succession planning training and professional development within the accounting & finance function.

Cash Flow & Asset Management

  • Oversee cash management working capital and capital expenditure approvals to ensure financial sustainability.

  • Safeguard company and ownership assets through risk management practices and internal controls.

  • Partner with operations to implement best practices for revenue management expense control and labor productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required; CPA CMA or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience preferably within hospitality or multi-unit management.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP financial reporting and compliance requirements.

  • Experience managing multi-property portfolios and working with ownership groups and hotel brands (Marriott Hilton IHG Hyatt etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams influence stakeholders and drive results in a fast-paced multi-state environment.

  • Excellent analytical communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel regularly to assigned properties.
