About the job:
Advantra is partnering with a high-growth AI startup to hire a Senior AI/ML Engineer to build and scale ML/LLM systems troubleshoot complex issues and deliver production-grade solutions.
About the role:
You will design implement and maintain machine learning and LLM systems optimize pipelines for performance and reliability and work closely with product and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design develop and deploy ML and LLM pipelines for production workloads.
- Optimize infrastructure and workflows for efficiency reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate ML features into products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex ML system issues in production.
- Implement monitoring observability and evaluation metrics for ML models.
- Communicate design decisions trade-offs and system behavior to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for ML engineering and deployment.
- Research and adopt emerging AI/ML technologies to improve system capabilities.
- Contribute to data strategy model evaluation and continuous improvement processes.
Core requirements:
- 5 years of experience in machine learning AI engineering or LLM systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow PyTorch JAX).
- Experience building and deploying ML/LLM systems in production.
- Strong understanding of model evaluation metrics and observability for AI systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure) and containerized workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex ML system issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver features.
- Experience scaling ML pipelines to support multiple tenants or large datasets.
- Track record of shipping production ML solutions at early-stage or high-growth companies.
Nice to have:
- Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Familiarity with multi-agent AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain LlamaIndex etc.).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity or regulatory domain constraints for AI systems.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization for GPU workloads.
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup building AI products.
