About the job:
Advantra is partnering with a founding AI-first energy startup in San Francisco to hire a Founding Software Engineer AI Applications to build production-ready AI systems for optimizing utility spend and orchestrating agent workflows.

About the role:
You will design build and deploy end-to-end AI applications that parse unstructured utility data optimize energy costs and automate workflows. You will implement production-grade LLM pipelines APIs backend services and frontend integrations while shaping the companys engineering standards architecture principles and AI-first practices.

Responsibilities:

Design and deploy AI applications to parse tariffs optimize utility spend and automate workflows.
Productionize AI/LLM agent workflows ensuring reliability and scalability in real-world environments.
Build APIs backend services and frontend integrations using Python and TypeScript.
Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS to ensure performance and scalability.
Prototype test and launch features quickly while maintaining production quality.
Establish engineering standards architecture principles and AI-first practices for the company.
Collaborate cross-functionally to implement solutions with direct business impact.

Core requirements:

2 3 years of experience as a software engineer at an AI-first company or building AI-powered applications.
Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with production code experience.
Hands-on experience deploying AI/LLM workflows into production (LangChain LlamaIndex vector DBs orchestration frameworks).
Familiarity with GCP or AWS cloud infrastructure for production-grade systems.
Experience building and maintaining APIs data pipelines or full-stack applications.
Startup experience or strong comfort in ambiguous high-ownership environments.
Demonstrated problem-first mindset and bias toward action.

Nice to have:

Experience parsing unstructured data optimization algorithms or time-series forecasting.
Background in energy utilities or IoT data.
Prior experience in a founding or early-stage engineering role.
