Traveling Field Service Technician

Rosendahl Nextrom Group is a global leader in manufacturing technologies designing and supplying sophisticated production equipment and solutions for the battery cable & wire and optical fiber industries. BM Rosendahl is the Business Unit of the Battery Machines Business.

We are looking for a dedicated Traveling Field Service Technician to provide on-site service and technical support to our key customers at their production sites across the United States. This is a full-time on-site position based in the Midwestern region with occasional travel to Mexico Brazil and Austria.

As part of the BM-Rosendahl team you will become a technical subject matter expert for BM manufacturing solutions and equipment.

Tasks

• Service troubleshoot and maintain machinery
• Install and commission machines and upgrades
• Train operators and support customers on-site
• Report on machine performance and service activities
• Maintain tools equipment and service documentation
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards

Customer sites are primarily located in the Midwest with a few additional locations in Mexico and Brazil.

Weekly travel schedules will be planned in advance by the BM team in Austria based on customer needs. You will coordinate daily activities independently with customers and BM-Rosendahl.

Initial technical training onboarding and machine FATs/run-offs (pre-commissioning) will take place at BM-Rosendahl headquarters in Pischelsdorf Austria.

Requirements

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience in machinery installation maintenance and mechanical repair
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read and understand Rockwell PLC programs (preferred)
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures
• Ability to interpret technical manuals electrical and pneumatic diagrams
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Flexibility regarding travel schedules and working hours
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 24 trips/year to Austria Mexico or Brazil)
• Fluency in English
• Valid U.S. passport required
