About the job:
Advantra is partnering with an early-stage AI web platform startup in London to hire a Design Engineer to build intuitive interactive and visually engaging web experiences for end-users.
About the role:
You will turn wireframes mockups and design concepts into real fluid web experiences. Work includes optimizing interactions visual design and usability while ensuring pages are easy for customers to create and manage. You will collaborate closely with founders and report to the CPTO.
Responsibilities:
- Implement interactive user-facing web pages from wireframes and mockups.
- Translate design concepts into fluid and responsive user experiences.
- Optimize usability for end-users and ease of content management for customers.
- Collaborate with founders and product team to refine design systems.
- Maintain visual consistency and design standards across the platform.
- Test and iterate on designs to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot design and interaction issues in production systems.
- Contribute to the development of design tools or internal frameworks.
Core requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of frontend or design engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency with HTML CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with frontend frameworks (React Vue or similar).
- Solid understanding of responsive and adaptive web design principles.
- Experience translating wireframes and mockups into production-quality interfaces.
- Familiarity with design systems and UI/UX best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced early-stage startup environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Portfolio of shipped projects or interactive web experiences.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI-powered web platforms or personalization.
- Knowledge of animation libraries and advanced frontend interactions.
- Experience with cloud hosting and deployment (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Familiarity with Figma or other design tools for collaboration.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and performance optimization.
