Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) provides skilled nursing care to patients focusing on cardiac monitoring telemetry and management of various medical conditions. The role involves patient assessment medication administration and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will float to similar units as needed and must be proficient in managing cardiac drips vasoactive drips and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care including assessment planning implementation and evaluation.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients vital signs and telemetry readings.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration may be required).
- Perform wound care and manage surgical drains.
- Provide feeding tube care and management.
- Manage patients with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis.
- Insert and manage peripheral IV lines central lines and PICC lines.
- Administer blood products.
- Provide respiratory support including chest tube management CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen therapy.
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in Cerner.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Float to like units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in MS/Tele Telemetry Cardiac Tele PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
- Proficiency in managing cardiac drips and vasoactive drips (titration may be required).
- Experience with post cardiac angiogram post MI pre/post cardiac cath pre/post cardiac surgery sheath removal and TR band.
- Experience with feeding tube care and management.
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure.
- Proficiency in accessing ports arterial line management blood product administration central line care/management peripheral line care/management PICC line management and starting IVs.
- Experience with heparin protocols.
- Experience with CVA patients.
- Experience with surgical drains.
- Experience with chest tubes external CPAP/BIPAP high flow nasal cannula nasal cannula oxygen face masks and portable oxygen tanks.
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac.
- Cerner experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Previous charge experience.
- Teaching hospital experience.
- Level I Trauma experience.
Special Considerations:

- Will work every other weekend.
- Clinician will float within scope to meet facility needs.
- RTO requests ideally no more than 5 days.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without pay.
- Acute Care Hospital - Level I trauma center.
- Magnet hospital/facility.

- 3x12 Days (0645-1915)
