Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within a Level II Trauma Center. Responsibilities include patient assessment medication administration and collaboration with the surgical team. The role requires flexibility to float between units based on need and participate in a call rotation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
- Assist with patient assessment and preparation for surgery.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
- Float between units based on staffing needs.
- Participate in on-call shifts as required.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
- Strong clinical assessment medication administration and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- TNCC certification.
- Trauma experience.
- Experience with neuro thoracic general ortho plastics robotics gyn ent pediatrics urology trauma and vascular surgical service lines.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float between units as needed.
- Required to participate in a call rotation typically 4 call shifts in a 13-week period.
- Level II Trauma Center environment.
- Predominantly adult patients with occasional pediatric cases.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 Day Shift Friday Saturday Sunday.
- Combination of 10 and 12-hour shifts.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Specific shift assignments may vary.
