Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 8:15 am - 4:30 pm 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $65069- $88681 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Research Manager the Data Analyst supports researchers in all aspects of a research project. This includes navigating project data sets and determining data quality selecting appropriate data elements from DataNB platform for project objectives assembling data access requests conducting and interpreting data analyses and contributing to writing final reports. The Data Analyst also completes data validation and documentation to ensure the accuracy of Data NBs data holdings.

Position Summary

  • Prepare analytic data sets. Conduct and interpret data analyses using population-based administrative clinical registry and survey data.
  • Assist researchers in the development of study protocols data measures data creation plans and analytic plans. Provide guidance to research assistants.
  • Assist researchers in the preparation of forms required for access to Data NBs data.
  • Provide research support to users in the Data NBs lab.
  • Output interpret and communicate statistical results verbally and in writing.
  • Contribute to writing research reports and scientific manuscripts for academic publication.
  • Clean manage and analyze large provincial administrative databases.
  • Identify and advise on data limitations. Collaborate on solutions to overcome those limitations.
  • Complete data stewardship functions including data validation to ensure its accuracy.
  • Create and update reference guides for data sets.
  • Provide counsel on accurate analytical estimates for data analysis quotes
  • Participate in the planning development and implementation of new research initiatives.
  • Assist GNB departments and external agencies in preparing data sets to move to Data NBs repository.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A masters degree in Education Economics Health Sciences Biostatistics or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in manipulating large complex data sets and applying statistical methods and principles to services research.

Additional Strengths:

  • Experience with administrative data such as student records immigration data health care registries or related databases and with survey data.
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills. Strong knowledge of descriptive statistics statistical inference survival analysis and advanced statistical modelling.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Attention to detail in grammar structure and clarity to ensure professional and accessible reporting.
  • Proven experience preparing high-quality research papers and/or analytical reports. Skilled in translating quantitative analysis into actionable narratives and well-structured written deliverables.
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical software (SAS STATA R MATLAB) and Microsoft Office.
