We are seeking a dedicated Softball Coach who will be responsible for training and mentoring student-athletes in skills game strategy and sportsmanship. This role will involve working closely with the athletic department to promote a positive team environment and uphold the values of the school through athletics.
The coaching season typically spans the spring months with practices scheduled Monday through Friday in the afternoons. This is a stipend-paid position that reports to the Director of Athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all the responsibilities or tasks; other duties may be assigned when deemed appropriate:
- Lead individual and team practices focusing on skill development and team cohesion.
- Plan and implement game strategies to maximize team performance.
- Encourage sportsmanship and uphold school values in all team activities.
- Communicate effectively with athletes parents and fellow coaches.
- Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure balance between academics and athletics.
- Assist in the organization of games including pre-game preparation and post-game evaluations.
- Collaborate with the athletic department for scheduling games and coordinating logistics.
- Support players in their athletic development and recruitment processes.
RequirementsBelow are the qualifications for this position:
- Experience in coaching or playing softball at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with athletes parents and administration.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes to achieve their potential.
- Strong organizational skills to manage practice schedules and game preparations.
