What to expect:

  • Perform hardware design reviews of electronic automotive components and ECUs based on documentation submitted by the customer and following the customer-specific process.
  • Evaluate circuit diagrams and component configurations using datasheets and application notes.
  • Analyze PCB layouts using detailed design data (Gerber ODB or equivalent) and assess manufacturability signal routing and placement-related risks.
  • Run circuit simulations with tools such as PSpice or LTSpice to validate functional behaviour where applicable.
  • Identify document and prioritise findings deviations and potential risks in a project-specific findings list.
  • Assess proposed supplier corrective actions track implementation status and verify closure of findings.
  • Communicate critical issues promptly to the customer and responsible departments; escalate according to project rules.
  • Use and maintain evaluation sheets (e.g. oscillator configuration electrolytic capacitor use manufacturing strain detection) to ensure reproducibility of reviews.

What you bring along:

  • Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering Electronics or related field.
  • Practical experience in automotive hardware design or hardware review activities; experience with ECU projects is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles and component selection.
  • Experience with schematic and PCB layout analysis; familiarity with Gerber and ODB (or equivalent) formats.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation using PSpice or LTSpice.
  • Structured documentation skills attention to detail and risk assessment capability.
  • Experience interacting with suppliers and tracking corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with automotive development processes and standards; knowledge of customer-specific processes (e.g. VW) is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English; German is an advantage depending on project.
