As the Mechanical Engineer for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) youll be responsible for supporting and delivering mechanical design and drafting services across all phases of vessel development from concept through to final delivery. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and in full compliance with Austals quality standards client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Whats Involved
- Produce accurate information and documentation ensuring vessel design complies with relevant regulatory authorities specifications and customer requirements.
- Manage design inputs from third parties such as drawings certifications and manuals.
- Monitor task schedules and proactively track progress and upcoming deliverables.
- Seek and implement improvements in design processes and product quality.
- Design exhaust systems propulsion systems domestic systems cooling systems hydraulic systems and fire systems.
- Prepare design drawings including calculations and schematics.
- Select and requisition machinery.
Youll Need
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics).
- Advanced AutoCAD skills.
- Solid understanding of production methods and the practical application of design.
- 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
