Thefundamental reason this classification exists is to perform professional-levelhuman resources duties in support of the City of Montgomerys Human Resourcesdepartment. This position assists in administering various human resourcesfunctions including assisting with employment interviews employee relations performancemanagement training and policy interpretation. The Human Resources (HR)Generalist serves as a point of contact for city employees and departmentmanagers providing guidance and support to ensure fair consistent andlegally compliant HR practices. The Human Resources Generalist reports to theHuman Resources Director.
Bachelorsdegree in Human Resource Management Business Administration Public AdministrationOrganizational Management or a closely related field and three (3)years of professional and administrative experience across multiple humanresources functions including employee relations performance management andtraining; OR high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least eight (8) yearsof experience in human resources functional areas including Employee RelationsRecruitment and Staffing Classification and Compensation. Experience inadministering human resources functions including Employee RelationsPerformance Management and Onboarding is required. Publicsector experience is a plus.
