The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications supports the regional marketing team by developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing efforts that enhance recruitment and enrollment initiatives. This position plays a key role in creating engaging content for multi-channel distributionincluding print digital social media email and local mediawhile ensuring consistency with the colleges brand voice and institutional priorities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications plans focused on recruitment enrollment and community engagement.
- Coordinate regional media relations including maintaining media contacts preparing and distributing press releases and assisting with media inquiries.
- Collaborate with campus departments to develop promotional materials and campaignsboth print and digitalthat highlight programs events and initiatives.
- Assist in planning and executing campus events such as commencement community celebrations and other high-profile functions.
- Write edit and proofread content for advertising publications email campaigns and internal communications.
- Support brand management by ensuring all marketing materials align with college standards and messaging.
- Supervise and mentor student workers interns and/or work-study employees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to advance campus and statewide marketing objectives.

- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

- Experience in media relations journalism or public relations writing.
- Working knowledge of CRM and email marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce MailChimp).
- Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) Style.
- Experience in event coordination or photography.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign Photoshop Illustrator) or Canva.
- Press release distribution platforms (e.g. MuckRack)
