Job Summary:
This is a full-time long-term substitute position which means you will be responsible for the full scope of the teachers duties during their absence.
The Early Childhood Education programprepares students to understand and apply the principles of high-quality early childhood programming.
Students explore:
- Child development and learning theories
- Effective teaching strategies
- Adheres to the professional standards of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) which guide curriculum practice and student preparation for EEC Teacher Certification.
We are seeking a long-term substitute teacher who brings either professional experience in early childhood education or a desire to explore teaching while sharing real-world knowledge with students. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Weymouth Public Schools community and inspire future educators.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Massachusetts DESE license (CTE or ECE Grades 912)
- Minimum: Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education Child Development or related field
- Experience in childcare preschool or early education settings preferred
- Strong communication collaboration and mentoring skills
- Passion for connecting classroom learning to real-world practice as we have many students on cooperative education placements
- Status: This is a full-time long-term substitute position which means you will be responsible for the full scope of the teachers duties during their absence.
Pay Rate:
- Days 130: $134.25/day
- Days 3160: $161.25/day
- 61 days: TBD
