Responsibilities
- Integrates the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice
- Contributes to the maintenance of high quality cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospitals budgetary guidelines
- Provides clinical leadership by directing coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner allowing for flexibility
- Acts as an interdepartmental liaison promoting effective multidisciplinary teamwork
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting patient care
- Assists in the development of policy/procedure and guidelines for safe efficient operation of the department as needed
- Assists in developing annual budget and takes appropriate action when appropriate to maintain control of department financial resources
- Implements evidence-based practice strategies to meet the patient care needs
- Interviews orients trains schedules evaluates disciplines and terminates staff with appropriate input
Qualifications
Education:
Registered nurse with active RN license
Willing and able to achieve BSN within 3 years
Experience:
One-year experience as a registered nurse
Experience in specialty area preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current Iowa license as a registered nurse
Current BCLS (CPR)
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
Required Experience:
Manager
