Job Summary

Our Kids Connect program is a targeted program for primary school aged children who are struggling socially and academically. The program supports children with behavioural difficulties low self-esteem and/or poor school attendance. Kids Connect establishes safe and caring learning environments gives participating children the opportunity to practice the positive behaviours and provides participating children with consistent reinforcement.

A place to make a difference:

In this casual role (Monday to Thursday up to 24 hours per week during school terms) youll work as a part of our Kids Connect team in Darwin/Palmerston to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.

You will make a difference by:

  • Delivering Kids Connect sessions to primary school children in the allocated geographical area
  • Preparing and evaluating sessions and the impact of the Kids Connect program
  • Maintaining effective communication and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders school staff families and the community
  • Fostering maximum wellbeing for every child referred to the program

Youre known for your ability to develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with parents carers children and young people particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families. You have a strong work ethic and you can confidently manage multiple tasks at a time.


This role requires:

  • Qualification in School Based Education Support Early Childhood or a relevant field is desirable or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Cultural and/or community knowledge
  • NT Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check (OCHRE Card)
  • Senior FirstAid Certificate
