About the Role
As a Senior Engineer (Plating) you will be responsible for developing optimizing and sustaining electroplating or chemical plating processes to ensure superior coating performance yield and product reliability. This role also involves managing and maintaining plating equipment to ensure stable operations and compliance with quality and environmental standards.
What You Will Do
Plating Process Development & Optimization
Define key process parameters (voltage current time temperature chemical concentration).
Optimize plating thickness adhesion and surface finish.
Conduct experiments (DOE) to improve process yield and reliability.
Collaborate with R&D or Product Engineering on new plating technologies or materials.
Equipment Management
Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of plating equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and chemical-related tool issues.
Coordinate with equipment vendors for upgrades spare parts and technical support.
Process Control & Monitoring
Develop and maintain control plans and SPC charts.
Monitor and maintain plating bath conditions within required specifications.
Analyze process data detect deviations and implement corrective actions.
Track equipment downtime availability and OEE.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure plating processes comply with internal standards and regulations (e.g. RoHS REACH).
Investigate plating defects and drive root cause analysis (RCA).
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support audits and maintain process documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with production quality R&D and maintenance teams.
Train operators and technicians on plating processes and equipment handling.
Participate in yield improvement cost reduction and process robustness initiatives.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
Maintain safety standards for hazardous materials (e.g. acids cyanides nickel chromium).
Conduct risk assessments and support EH&S activities.
What You Will Need
Bachelors Degree in Chemical Mechanical Materials or related Engineering field.
Strong knowledge of electrochemistry and surface finishing principles.
Hands-on experience with wet process or plating equipment.
Skills in data analysis tools (SPC JMP Minitab Excel).
Solid troubleshooting and project management abilities.
Understanding of ISO/TS quality systems and manufacturing best practices.
