We are seeking a specialist Infrastructure Migration Engineer to support the Physical to Virtual (P2V) migration of legacy Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 & 6 servers as part of a wider remediation initiative. This engagement is critical due to internal resource constraints and compatibility limitations with Red Hat 6 requiring expert intervention to ensure a secure and effective transition to supported platforms.
Location: Preston On site
Contract Type: 3 Months
Start Date: Immediate

Rate: Competitive based on experience (Outside IR35)
UK Right to work : - Must have full UK RTW and 5 year address history in UK to facitate immediate start and pass all background checks required
Scope of Work
- Assess and validate viable P2V strategies for RHEL6 servers
- Attempt migration of two RHEL6 servers to Hyper-V
- Confirm boot success driver compatibility and system integrity post-migration
- Document a repeatable P2V process and tooling (e.g. Disk2VHD Clonezilla)
- Deliver remaining server migrations using the approved method
- Collaborate with internal teams to support access control and data migration
- Assist with post-migration testing and acceptance
- Install standard security tooling on all migrated and rebuilt VMs:
