GFLs Napanee site is looking for a chemical operator to join Team Green!

Key Responsibilities:

Go out to clients sites to inventory pack and remove their chemical wastes.

Prepare shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport.

Receive all client waste both bulk liquids/solids and containerized.

Take samples from waste vehicles and containers for lab analysis.

Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner.

Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.

Ensure safe operation and procedures are always followed.

Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted.

Complete job hazard risk assessments

Ensure superior customer service is provided.

Notify the Shift Supervisor/General Manager of any defects damages mistakes errors contamination spills other incidents or accidents that are identified.

Attend Household Hazardous Waste collection events to identify classify and separate waste. Prepare necessary waste manifest documents for transport back to GFLs facility.

Other tasks as required.

Knowledge Skills & Requirements:

Ability to read write understand and communicate effectively in English.

Proficient with computers Microsoft Office suites emails

Must be able to workday shift.

Able to work weekend shifts as needed.

Degree or Diploma in Chemistry Chemical Technology Environmental Technology or equivalent.

Familiarity with waste management regulations Ontario regulation 347 Transportation of Dangerous Goods is an asset.

Previous hazardous and non-hazardous waste management experience is an asset.

Previous experience using various forklifts

Mechanical aptitude including knowledge and use of hand tools is an asset

Must be motivated able to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment

Must be safety conscious and detail oriented.

Must be willing and able to report to work clean shaven (respirator safety).

Ability to follow procedures and execute work with minimal supervision.

Ability to repetitively lift 40 lbs. above waist.

Valid G class Drivers license with a clean driver abstract.

Must be able to pass security clearances for government contracts
