Department Overview

The Specialty Camera Engineering team based in Ware UK is responsible for developing cameras for long range surveillance applications such as border or coastal security. The products are aimed at public and commercial safety. The team is responsible for the development of the complete products including hardware firmware and mechanics and takes care of the whole development life-cycle that includes development testing and maintenance of the systems we build.


Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our team in developing and supporting advanced modular PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) platforms. These systems integrate cutting-edge technologies across the defense sector including radar GPS acoustic hailers drone detection and non-lethal deterrents.


This role is suited to an engineer with a multi-disciplinary background who thrives in a high-pressure fast-paced environment and is eager to work on unique rapidly evolving defense solutions.


Responsibilities


Support the integration testing and deployment of advanced PTZ systems with cutting-edge electro-optical and thermal camera imaging technologies.
Assist in the design and deployment of highly customised defense solutions
combining multiple technologies.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting across hardware software and
communications interfaces.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system reliability scalability and modularity.
Work closely with customers partners and stakeholders to understand operational requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Occasional requirement to conduct on-site installations demonstrations and system training for clients internationally.
Document system configurations integration procedures and technical reports.
Stay up to date with emerging defense and surveillance technologies to ensure
platforms remain at the forefront of innovation.


Basic Requirements

Bachelors degree (or higher) in an engineering-related discipline; preference for robotics mechatronics systems engineering or similar multi-disciplinary fields.
Proven experience working with complex modular systems integrating hardware and software components.
Strong knowledge of sensors communications and control systems.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced high-pressure environments.
Excellent social and communication skills to interact with clients and international teams.
Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and mission requirements.
