Overview:
Hutco Inc. is currently hiring qualified dependable shipyard workers with active TWIC cards and clean backgrounds for long-term opportunities in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry. These positions are located on U.S. military bases requiring employees to be eligible for DBIDS and NAVSEA badge access. We are seeking motivated individuals who are ready to contribute to national defense and work in a structured safety-conscious environment.
Positions Available:
We are accepting applicants with experience in the following trades:
- Shipfitters
- Welders (Pipe & Structural)
- Pipefitters
- Outside Machinists
- Riggers
- Marine Electricians
- Stage Builders
- Painters/Blasters
- Firewatch
- Helpers & General Laborers (with shipyard exposure)
Requirements:
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Active TWIC Card(Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Must be valid at time of application
- Clean Background Required to obtain:
- DBIDS badge(Defense Biometric Identification System)
- NAVSEA badge(Naval Sea Systems Command Access)
- Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing
- U.S. Citizenship (Required for access to military installations)
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in naval shipbuilding or ship repair
- Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and OSHA regulations
- Current OSHA 10 or OSHA Maritime Certification a plus
Responsibilities (Vary by Trade):
- Perform shipbuilding repair and overhaul tasks according to blueprints drawings and job specifications
- Work in confined spaces at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Comply with all base and jobsite safety regulations
- Wear proper PPE at all times
- Follow direction from supervisors and collaborate with team members
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and with high attention to quality
