  • Period of Performance: 04 January 2026 13 January 2031.
  • Type of Employment: Part-time up to 20 hours per week not to exceed 900 hours per year.
  • Estimated Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Pay Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Holidays (4 hours each holiday)
  • Paid Time Off: 40 hours occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave: 28 hours occurring on day one.

Working Hours
The Engineering Technician will perform tasks during the Governments primary operational hours Monday through Friday 6:00 AM through 6:00 PM. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Telework may be authorized with coordination with the COR and approved by the Contracting Officer (CO).

Summary of Duties
The Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) is the medical certification education research and occupational medicine arm of the Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) under the auspices of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety (AVS). The Aerospace Medical Research Division of CAMI (AAM-600) is located at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City OK.

The Aerospace Medical Research Division accomplishes the following core functions in support of the FAAs aviation safety mission. The Data Analyst will support the CAMI Protection and Survival Laboratory as CAMI investigates in-flight medical incapacitation events of airmen holding valid U.S. medical certificates with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in Health Informatics or similar fields.
  • Two (2) years of experience in using Microsoft Office products specifically Word Excel and Access.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with Personal Privacy Information (PII).
  • Two (2) years of experience using medical terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and time management.

Attire

The Data Analyst is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate in-flight medical incapacitation events of airmen holding valid U.S. medical certificates with minimal supervision.
  • Investigation includes verification of cases determining the sequence of events and reviewing pilot information in the Document Information Workflow System (DIWS).
  • Review flight information in the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and review pilot and aircraft information in the FAA Safety Performance and Analysis System (SPAS).
  • Enter pertinent data into a specialized Access database.
  • Extract and prepare data to support research activities.
  • Assist in writing and editing publications and presentations.
