NOTICE OF VACANCYLTS TECH/LIBRARY TEACHERBrookfield Elementary SchoolNovember & DecemberSalary Range: No Degree $100.00 per day/ Degree $110.00 per day / Certification $115.00 per dayREPORTS TO: Principal RESPONSIBILITIES Under general supervision ensures that students and teachers are effective and efficient users and producers of information. Provides students and teachers with intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats. Provides instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading viewing and using information and ideas. Collaborates with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual learners. Manages and supervises the operation of the library media FUNCTIONSprovides all students with structured opportunities to learn and practice information literacy skillsworks with students and teachers in the use of a variety of technology tools including hardware software and the Internetassists teachers in the selection of books media and other instructional materials for classroom useguides students in the selection of materials and information for reading writing viewing listening speaking and presentingworks with computers and peripherals in a networked environmentadministrates a library catalog and circulation systemmaintains an attractive inviting environment in the library media technology centerassists with ordering and processing new materials and suppliesoperates the circulation system including check out discharge and re-shelving of materials conducts inventory of the collection hardware and supplies helps coordinate equipment maintenance and scheduling of equipment performs other duties as assigned ABILITY TOsolve practical problems with students and staff communicate effectively with teachers students and administration support the goals and philosophies of the library and technology program troubleshoot and use the computer and Internet KNOWLEDGE OFcurrent practices and standards in the methods materials and equipment related to the library media and technology center and the teaching of information literacylibrary circulation systems processing mending and maintenance of all materials QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in education or related field demonstrated specialized knowledge and skills library/media preferredexperience in working within an educational setting preferredan understanding of child development and the ability to work with children of varying abilities are essential skillsApproved CORI and Fingerprinting results Dr. Kathleen Hosterman PrincipalBrookfield Elementary School 37 Central St. Brookfield MA :APPLICATION DEADLINE:Tantasqua Regional/Union 61Districts are committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race color religion national origin pregnancy gender identity sexual orientation marital/civil union status ancestry place of birth age citizenship status veteran status political affiliation genetic information or disability as defined and required by state and federal laws.
