Position Summary
Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for a full-time education faculty position specializing in literacy (special education credentials also highly desirable) for the 2025-2026 academic year. This position is in the School of Education located on the Mequon WI campus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach literacy courses in the early childhood elementary and special education programs (in-person & online)
- Lead and guide all aspects of Wisconsin ACT 20 implementation and execution
- Prepare teacher candidates for the Foundations of Reading Test (FoRT)
- Advise education students
- Participate in interdepartmental faculty committees academic scholarship and university service
- Teach other courses in the elementary early childhood or special education programs that fit the background of the candidate
- Observe student teachers
- Assist with portfolio adjudication
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Commitment to the mission of Concordia University Wisconsin: developing students in mind body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world
- Strong knowledge of literacy instruction and assessment
- Ability to teach literacy courses across early childhood elementary and/or special education programs (in-person and online)
- Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor teacher candidates
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education & Experience
- A commissioned minister of religion status in the Lutheran Church/Missouri Synod and a doctorate in education are preferred (or ABD status with completion in progress)
- Highly qualified Christian (non-LCMS) applicants possessing a graduate degree in education (reading literacy curriculum and instruction)and progress towards or willingness to obtain a doctorate will be considered.
- Prior P-12 teaching experience is required (minimum of 3 years); prior college teaching experience is desirable. Preferred
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license (or previously held license) or equivalent license from another state preferred
- If not a valid teaching license then an administrator license (e.g. Reading Specialist Principal or Special Education)
- College/university-level teaching experience
- Experience leading programmatic implementation of literacy initiatives (e.g. Wisconsin Act 20)
- Experience preparing teacher candidates for the Foundations of Reading Test (FoRT)
- Scholarship and service contributions in the field of literacy or special education
