Job Summary

  • Ongoing Full Time 35 hours per week
  • Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally with a focus on Queanbeyan Armidale Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
  • Competitive salary from $75728 to $145442pa. superannuation (Professional Officer Grade 1-4) commensurate with qualifications skills and experience

Make a real impact on drought resilience in NSW. Join DPIRDs Climate and Natural Resources branch to deliver real-time climate monitoring seasonal forecasting and drought coordination. Your research will directly support farmers policymakers and communities in managing climate and biosecurity risks.

What youll do:

  • Analyse large climate remote sensing and ag datasets
  • Develop biophysical and production models across time and space

  • Stay current with climate modelling tools and scientific trends

  • Analytical thinker with a strong scientific foundation

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Science Agricultural Science Climatology or related
  • Advanced skills in modelling GIS coding and data analysis
  • Understanding of Australian farming systems and biophysical processes
