Job Summary

HARD STOP: TRAVEL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum Experience: 1 year; 1st Timers not accepted Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics Certifications Required: BLS ACLS General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Overflow IMCU; Arrhythmia management; Cardioversion Cardiac CHF Chest pain Renal Pulmonary (COPD pulmonary edema) PE DVT Cardiac Arrhythmias (stable A-Fib SVT Bradycardia) Surgical (cholecystectomy appys chest tubes biliary drains) Occasional vascular patients Post Cardiac Cath TR Bands DKA. Occasional Ortho or CVA patient overflow- These patients are transferred as soon as possible to appropriate unit; TR Bands EXP with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring and care of pts post PCI is a must as well as EVERYTHING under the MEd/Surg umbrella Basic arrhythmia knowledge Cardiac Drip knowledge: amiodarone cardizem dobutamine dopamine nitroglycerin milrinone heparin argatroban aggrastat bumex and lasix Ratio / Census: 1:5-6; 32 beds Unit Systems: Epic (Preferred) Pyxis SBAR Scrub Color: Navy Blue RTO: MAX 7 days Weekends: Every other weekend Floating: Yes within the facility Call Requirements: Call is rare response time is 2 hours. Travelers typically do not get Precedex this is for core staff to manage Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays are listed below: New Year s Eve and Day: Wednesday December 31 and Thursday January 1 Memorial Day: Monday May 26 Independence Day: Friday July 4 Labor Day: Monday September 1 Thanksgiving/Black Friday: Thursday November 27 and Friday November 28 Christmas Eve and Day: Wednesday December 24 and Thursday December 25 Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. CLINICAL SCREEN - Candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision. Clinical screens will be sent on case-by-case basis. Locals accepted - Same rate Please Note: Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) Hours is determined by contract length (ex 8hrs for 8 week assignment; 19hrs for 19 week assignment)
