Overview
A higher education institution is seeking a dedicated Assistant Dean to support the planning management and supervision of its Workforce Development (WFD) nursing program. This role involves leading academic and clinical operations overseeing faculty and student success and ensuring compliance with state and board regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in nursing education a commitment to student outcomes and a collaborative approach to program development.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Administrative Leadership

Assist the Dean in managing all program elements including faculty curriculum compliance and budget

Supervise daily operations at the Workforce Development site
-
Ensure all reports self-studies site visit documentation and evaluations are prepared on time
-
Collaborate with HR to manage faculty documentation and staffing needs
-
Participate in strategic planning and assist with the development of academic policies and procedures
Faculty Support

Provide guidance in curriculum delivery and assessment
-
Maintain a 50% teaching load in labs simulation or clinical settings
-
Monitor clinical rotation assignments calendars and evaluations
-
Support ongoing faculty development and adherence to instructional standards
-
Participate in faculty recruitment training and supervision
Clinical Oversight

Evaluate and approve clinical sites based on safety staffing and alignment with learning outcomes

Coordinate contracts with partner agencies
-
Serve as a liaison between clinical faculty site leadership and institutional administration
-
Document and maintain records from inter-agency and consortium meetings
Student Engagement

Assist in student recruitment orientation advising and support services
-
Develop clinical and lab orientation plans

Monitor academic progress and licensing readiness
-
Lead at-risk student meetings to improve outcomes

Ensure compliance with graduation and licensure requirements
Qualifications
-
Valid RN license in California (or willingness to obtain licensure cost covered)
-
Bachelors degree in nursing required; masters in nursing preferred (or willingness to enroll tuition forgiveness available)

4 years of RN experience in direct patient care

1 year of teaching in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs

Experience in supervision planning and budgeting

Proficient in MS Teams Zoom and Learning Management Systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proven leadership skills with an emphasis on collaboration
