Role Overview
Our counselling program is designed to complement and enhance the ISB international school experience by offering support to the community in the domains of academic career personal and global perspectives. The program is aligned with our school mission and priorities and the ISCA International Content Standards.
This is a fixed-term position from December 1 2025 through June 26 2026

Counselling Program Overview
Our counselling department provides a variety of services rooted in supporting the academic social and emotional learning and wellbeing of our students and families. Some services are universal and offered to all students such as classroom lessons that provide guidance build character and promote positive relationships skills and tools. Other services are targeted toward small groups of individuals while others are only provided to a few students with a higher level of need.
The High School counselling team is made up of five counsellors four of whom are in a comprehensive role that primarily focus on college and careers counselling as well as support students in all domain areas that are less elevated in need.
The Social Emotional Counsellor supports the students who have elevated social emotional needs in collaboration with the comprehensive counsellors.

Required Position-Specific Skills and Qualifications
- have a Masters Degree or Postgraduate Certification in Mental Health Counselling School Psychology Social Work or a related field
- have sufficient experience to speak with confidence and authority on social/emotional/learning challenges and strategies
- have sufficient experience with crisis response referrals and building relationships with external providers
- be experienced in inclusive education
- embody the schools core dispositions of respect responsibility reflection
- wish to work in a dynamic multicultural environment that is committed to International Citizenship
- ensure open and effective communication
- build rapport easily
- work proactively and with initiative and innovation
- provide an example to others in terms of commitment empowerment and drive

Employment Status
Social Emotional Counsellor will have an ISB contract. If candidate is not EU member s/he needs to have a valid work permit.
