As a Cook Lead youll be responsible overseeing hot and cold food production. Youll also manage our material handlers and stockers and work closely with other supervisory team members to deliver exceptional food and service. Youll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and make a positive impact on those we serve every day.
Assumes total responsibility for all food production in absence of the Supervisor.
Organizes and directs the preparation of complex recipes.
Assists in planning and documenting menus for all areas of the Nutrition Services department.
Ensures daily production schedule is completed and adhered to.
Assists in training orientation and evaluation of employees.
Prepares purchase order for the buyer as appropriate.
Develops recipes and menus.
Assists supervisor in overseeing areas of operations assigned. Monitors employees to ensure policies/procedures are being adhered to. Addresses employees not following job requirements or proper policy/procedures.
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
6 months of relevant experience food service preferably in health care setting or related field
1 year of relevant experience supervisory
Preferred
Preferred Vocational/Technical Vocational training in food service or currently enrolled.
Preferred Student Culinary Internships student workers meeting Internship requirements
2 year of relevant experience in food preparation/serving
