Foth is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Geospatial Technician to support our growing remote sensing operations with a primary focus on sUAS-LiDAR. This role will be instrumental in expanding our capabilities across multiple office locations and will also support traditional land surveying projects when not engaged in sUAS missions. This role can be based in one of our Iowa Wisconsin or Texas offices and will require approximately 70% travel to client sites.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain sUAS platforms for LiDAR and photogrammetric data collection
Primary equipment includes a RIEGL VUX-120 LiDAR sensor mounted on a Harris Aerial H6 sUAS
Process and analyze geospatial data using industry-standard software
Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality mapping and modeling products
Support traditional surveying tasks including boundary topographic and construction surveys
Travel up to 70% to project sites and office locations across the US
Train and mentor local teams in sUAS operations and best practices
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company safety protocols
Required Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelors degree in Geomatics Geography Surveying or related field
2 years of experience with sUAS operations LiDAR systems and photogrammetry workflows
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required
Experienceusing traditional surveying equipment and techniques
Willingness to travel extensively and work in field conditions (70% approximately)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mobile LiDAR or bathymetric surveying
Knowledge of GIS platforms
Ability to lead training sessions and develop SOPs for sUAS operations
