Basic Job Functions:

Duties will include but are not limited to supplier relations including vendor evaluations and maintaining all related records (Purchase orders Purchase agreements Vendor contracts). The Buyer will be expected to assist the division with procurement functions in negotiating and processing of purchase requests at the best value while maintaining quality and contract regulations that may apply. The Buyer will also be expected to maintain a high quality of customer service and support to the Nucor team. The individual in this position will be expected to back up all Procurement functions. Able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights weekends and holidays as business conditions warrant.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma
Minimum 2 years procurement or related field work experience
Minimum 2 years inventory management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite
Associate or BS Degree in Business (Accounting Management or related field)
2 Years Purchasing / Buyer Experience in Manufacturing Industry
2 YearsExperience with contracts negotiations and commercial insurance requirements
