Job Summary

The General Clerk will be responsible for assisting in general office support of clerical and administrative functions for the department. Maintain files in compliance with applicable laws and audit guidelines and organization. Coordinates the maintenance of supplies and materials of the department/unit.

Transports specimen charts supplies instruments and other clinic items to interoffice locations and to Arcadia SPD. Pick up sort and distribute mail to all locations. Assist with HIM scanning and maintaining of patient charts. Maintain company vehicle. Must work with and communicate well with all USC Care clinics in Arcadia and all other regional sites. Other duties as assigned. Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to speak read and write English proficiently.

  • Stock supplies samples and medications.
  • Receive incoming supplies deliver department specific supplies maintains accurate filing of all documents to include
  • delivery receipts packing slips priority shipment documents and all other material related documents.
  • Deliver inter-office mail and patient files between locations.
  • Complete projects or daily assignments as directed by Supervisor.
  • Follow guidelines ensuring products that require pharmacy monitoring are properly authorized prior to delivery.
  • Placement of incoming medical supplies in appropriate stock locations.
  • Ensure key work areas are secured properly by lock to ensure security measures are enforced.
  • Maintain clean work area at all times.
  • Ensure all supplies are labeled properly.
  • Maintain company vehicle.
  • Adheres to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req High school or equivalent.
  • Req Displays behaviors conducive to excellent customer service.
  • Req Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to speak read and write English proficiently.
  • Req Computer literacy preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref 1 year Minimum one year experience working within a medical office or hospital environment.


Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Drivers License (CA DMV) Valid and Active Drivers License required.
  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only).

The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $29.77.
