Location: 100% Remote (USA)
Duration: 9-12 months (W2 Contract)

About the Role:
Blend360 is seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Developer to support a strategic transformation of backend product architecture. This is a highly technical hands-on engineering role focused on designing building and maintaining backend services that power business-critical systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders across engineering product and business teams to deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end development and testing of backend systems and services.
Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions to ensure scalability and performance.
Translate complex product requirements into clear actionable user stories and technical solutions.
Build and maintain reliable scalable services within a modern production environment.
Collaborate with technical leads product managers and fellow engineers across business and back-office teams.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning backlog grooming code reviews and daily stand-ups.
Follow and enforce best practices in data security compliance and software engineering.
Advocate for clean maintainable code and modern design patterns.
Support innovation initiatives through proposing and implementing new ideas.
Key Metrics for Success:
Timely onboarding and integration into existing teams.
Cycle time improvements.
Story points delivered per sprint.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
5-7 years of total programming experience with modern technology stacks.
3-4 years of recent hands-on backend development experience using Java an d Kotlin.
Strong experience with event-driven architecture and microservices (SOA).
Proficient in Kubernetes and service-oriented environments managing 100 services in production.
Strong backend engineering skills with specific experience in:
o Java and Kotlin
o DynamoDB
o AWS (cloud platform experience)
o GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Temporal is a plus (not required).
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and working in Agile environments.
Proven experience in delivering secure compliant and highly available backend services.
Strong ownership mentality capable of driving projects from ideation to delivery.
Excellent communication skills and comfort working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Required experience in unit integration and end-to-end testing.
Ability to follow established design patterns best practices and technical guidelines.
