The Team
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services team is an established group committed to providing essential mental health services to young people involved in the justice system. This team works closely with probation services community agencies and contracted service providers as well as Youth Custody Services staff to deliver Court-ordered assessments and treatments. The Role
As a Licensed Psychologist you will provide independent psychological assessments for young people involved in the justice system whether they are in the community or in custody. Youll work with multi-disciplinary teams in specialized counseling and therapy supervise junior psychologists and students and collaborate on research projects. Your work will play a crucial role in shaping effective assessment and treatment services ultimately supporting the mental health and rehabilitation of young people in the justice system.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • Applicants with a Ph. D. and eligible for registration with the College of CHCPBC may be considered for appointment at a lower classification. NB: As a condition of continued employment such an appointee is required to become registered as a Licensed Psychologist.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Three (3) years of experience and/or training in Clinical Adolescent Psychology.
  • Post Graduate training in Forensic Psychology.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
