About the role
At Total Mayhem Games (TMG) creators of the award-winning We Were Here series we craft immersive co-op adventures where lighting plays a crucial role in storytelling mood and visual clarity.
Were looking for an experienced Lighting Artist who can translate creative direction into compelling lighting while being technically proficient and deeply familiar with Unity. As a Lighting Artist youll help define the visual tone and ensure our lighting not only looks great but runs smoothly as well.
Youll work closely with the Art Director Creative Director and Tech Team to build lighting setups that are both stylized and optimized. Your work will enhance the narrative support gameplay clarity and create atmosphere.
What youll be doing
Crafting emotional story-driven lighting setups in Unitys render pipelines that enhance mood gameplay and readability;
Defining the lighting direction for scenes in line with TMGs recognizable stylized visual identity;
Collaborating closely with Tech Artists and Programmers to configure and optimize lightmaps light probes and reflection probes etc;
Implementing post-processing setups (Color Grading Bloom AO Exposure etc.) to elevate the look and feel.
What were looking for
Preferably footage of shipped Unity titles you worked on as Lighting Artist;
Technical skills in real-time lighting light baking optimization;
Understanding of lighting probes volumes and post-processing;
Lighting portfolio that shows mood depth and visual storytelling;
Experience working in a production pipeline collaborating cross-discipline;
Able to come to our amazing office in the center of Rotterdam!
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Git production workflows;
Experience with lighting optimizations and profiling performance (using tools like Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger);
A more stylized focused lighting portfolio.
