This is a Lead Technical Program Management position at VP level which is part of the job family responsible for overseeing and leading the execution of multiple projects and/or programs working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. EDC Data Center Operations Managers are responsible for the overall management of the Morgan Stanley Data Center portfolio. This involves oversight of the Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure rack and stack activities and hardware break/fix activities that are executed by Full Time Consultants. Support of the entire IT asset lifecycle is the primary objective of this role. Capacity Management Change Management and Incident Management are all key requirements. Strong relationship building skills are required.
What youll do in the role:
IT Lifecycle Management
Installations Moves Adds and Changes (IMAC): Manage the physical execution oversight to align with Morgan Stanley Standards
Equipment Disposal: Work with equipment owners (IT silos) IT Finance IT Business Management IT Security and approved vendors for pick-up data wiping and disposal.
Smart Hands Services: Assist IT silos to perform reboot hardware failure trouble shooting etc.
Hardware involvements: Servers (Blade & Rack mounts): Oracle IBM HP Dell Cisco & Juniper switches - Brocade SAN director and/or switches - Hitachi and Netapp Storage arrays.
Obtain requirements from IT silos on IMAC work (such as power space physical connectivity etc)
Centralize all installation requests provide a wide range of services from handling assets to assigning rack locations
Taking the lead to review power cooling and cabling on installation carry out network/fiber patching physical rack/stack equipment.
Inventory management (labels bar-codes) configure management console or iLo ports rack diagram updates.
Document Management
Capacity management forecasts vendor coordination patching tape management and available resources co-ordinate with IT Business Management to update asset records
Manage all upward reporting related to the engineering such as financial and cost control code and regulatory compliance personnel management staff training and development team productivity and Health & Safety environmental and energy management
Review and approve standard operating procedures emergency response procedures preventive maintenance programs and all technical documentation
Review and approve all Change Management tickets
Technical compliance auditing and oversee the effective and timely close out of corrective action plans
Maintenance Management
Provide technical advice guidance and support to EDC Management on all DC related engineering and operations related matters
Coordination with different vendors and all IT silos for power down or annual scheduled maintenance events
Ensure standardization and consistency with best-in-class operating practices at each facility in the region
Provide input to capital and expense plan development to address equipment life expiry
Develop a complete knowledge of the design intent operational alternatives and contingency plans related to all building systems
Incident Management
Manage the Incident and Root Cause investigations into all incidents
First Management Call responsibilities for the Americas data centers including response dependent upon severity
Provide single point of contact for EDC delivery of data center services within the NA Data Center portfolio managing risk mitigation and issue resolution
Communicate operating philosophies technical information objectives and expectations to the service providers
Security and Access Control Management
Manage access control access lists
Assist IT silos to arrange data center access as required
Review and approve onsite access and escort for vendors should it be required for break-fix installation or any project works
What youll bring to the role:
10 years plus of data cabling and infrastructure design project experience with at least 5 years in an operations management role.
Good understanding of server installation procedures.
Good knowledge of data center technology and engineering connectivity.
Working knowledge of ITIL.
Extensive experience required of working in and around live data center environments.
Excellent communication interpersonal and client services skills.
Advanced software skills MS Office applications PowerPoint and Project.
Good understanding of data center M&E infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS generator CRAC cabling containment routes etc.) is advantageous.
Financial company background is advantageous.

Salary range for the position: $150000 - $ 210000/Year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
