The Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC) is the nerve centre of our Australia and New Zealand airline. All our team members within our Operations Delivery team play a critical role in managing the logistics and daily of movement of hundreds of flights on a mixed fleet of aircraft thousands of Jetstar crew and tens of thousands of passengers 24 hours per day 7 days per week. The JOCC consists of team members who specialise in operations crewing flight dispatch and customer recovery. Each group use real-time operational information and work collaboratively to maintain schedule integrity and ensure that our customers are delivered safely and timely to their destination.

The Opportunity

As the Crewing Duty Manager you will maintain the integrity of Jetstars Day of Operations flying program by being tactical and providing operational leadership in a shift work environment. You will be the point of contact and escalation on shift for key stakeholders including Flight Ops and Cabin Crew teams. Reporting to the Manager Crewing & Recovery you will lead and support an energetic and experienced team to ensure all flights are crewed daily in compliance with the requirements of the Company Operations Manuals and applicable CASA legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a small team of on shift crewing officers
  • Direct performance management of several Crewing Officers and support the performance management of the remaining Crewing Officers
  • Monitor the live roster operations and ensure all Crew Movements are maintained in accordance with CASA and Company requirements
  • Liaise with the Training team to ensure crew training requirements are achieved
  • Ensure crew are notified of any changes to their published roster in a timely manner
  • Manage accommodation and transportation for crew movements
  • Ensure all reports and support functions are actioned as per company and departmental policy
  • Ensure all Government and Airport Departments (i.e. Immigration Customs and Handling Agents) nationally and internationally are kept up to date with all relevant documentation
  • Maintain a working relationship with Crew Planning Department and all Regional Base Managers

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • Preferred aviation related degree or relevant Airline experience
  • 3 years of Crewing experience in an operations centre
  • Outstanding people-management skills with the ability to lead by example and mentor crewing officers
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks to meet strict deadlines and OTP and an inherent ability to liaise and maintain relationships effectively at all levels
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of Crew Rostering Legislation and interpreting Employee Awards
