Our client is a leading Project Management Consultancy (PMC) firm providing comprehensive project delivery solutions across Malaysia and the region. Our multidisciplinary teams manage large-scale developments from concept to completion ensuring design integrity cost efficiency and timely execution.
As part of the continued growth we are seeking a qualified Architect (Part 3) to join theJohor team taking a leadership role in design coordination consultant management and project delivery oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project & Design Management
- Lead and coordinate architectural design development in line with project objectives statutory requirements and client expectations.
- Review guide and manage the work of consultants and design teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Liaise closely with clients stakeholders and authorities on design matters submissions and approvals.
- Ensure all architectural deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
2. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead the local architectural team in Johor providing mentorship guidance and coordination support.
- Manage collaboration between architecture engineering and other project disciplines within the PMC structure.
- Conduct design coordination meetings and manage design-related issues proactively.
3. Technical & Compliance Oversight
- Oversee preparation and review of technical drawings specifications and reports.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations planning guidelines building codes and sustainability standards.
- Support technical audits and value engineering exercises.
4. Construction & Site Interface
- Support project teams during tendering procurement and construction phases.
- Review shop drawings material submissions and respond to RFI (Request for Information).
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure design intent is properly implemented.
Requirements:
- Professional Qualification:
- Registered Architect with LAM Part 3 qualification (Malaysia) or equivalent.
- Valid registration with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
- Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant architectural and project coordination experience.
- Proven experience in mixed-use commercial residential or infrastructure-related developments.
- Prior experience within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Client Representative environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Johor local authority requirements is preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in design software (AutoCAD Revit BIM platforms) and project management tools.
- Ability to work independently and make informed design and coordination decisions.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
