Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Placement Student to join our team on a 12-month contract commencing in July 2026 in our Quality Control department. The job holder will support microbiological analysis water testing and environmental monitoring at Veranovas Edinburgh site. This role will also provide technical support and continued improvement of existing processes as well as perform general laboratory duties to assist the smooth running of the laboratory.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory experiments and validation work in the laboratory under the direction of Microbiologist.
• Provide technical and analytical support for commissioning of new processes.
• Maintain detailed record of work done. Prepare reports on specific items of work where appropriate.
• Liaise with other departments particularly Production.
• Work in safe manner and maintain working areas in safe and tidy condition.
• Perform appropriate analytical procedures including microbiological testing (Bioburden Endotoxin testing) water sampling/testing and environmental monitoring analysis.
• Perform required microbiological analysis of stability samples.
• Reports any out of specification or anomalous results to the Supervisor.
• Comply with SOPs and company procedures on SHE quality controlled drug regulations and cGMP.
• General laboratory duties or other duties as requested by Line Manager.

• Part way through (MSc/BSc) in Microbiology
• Attention to detail
• Flexible
• Strong practical skills
