Job Summary
Our client in Taylor is looking for an experienced forklift operator for their facility. They offer 1st 2nd & 3rd shifts $18-$20 per hour Monday-Friday with possible OT.
Essential Functions of Job:
- Operating machinery and equipment as directed.
- Transporting material in and around the plant to and from storage or worksites to designated areas
- Packaging loading and unloading material onto or from pallets trays racks and shelves
- Identifying damaged material and recording or communicating findings as directed
- Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing trucks (assist to Shipping and Receiving Dept)
- Inventory counting and control (assist); maintaining and cleaning lift trucks and other equipment used; cleaning and other general shop tasks.
- Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Skills required to carry out the essential functions include the ability to:
- Learn and master new skills.
- Understand and follow directions and rules
- Safely and effectively operate various machinery and equipment
- Visually identify damaged materials
- Interact appropriately and collaborate with fellow employees and management; communicate effectively (written and oral) with other employees and management
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations decrease turnaround times
- Streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with the flexibility to prioritize duties and multi-task at different levels
Equipment operated as part of the essential functions: (includes but is not limited to)
- Lift Truck Hi-Lo Car Truck and other similar equipment.
- Attendance/Hours required as part of the essential functions
- Full time 40-hour 5-day work week unless the company approves less than full-time employment.
