Job Summary

LOOKING FOR FULL OR PART TIMENSM is approved as an year round independent school by the Vermont State Board of Education to provide general and special education services to students ages 5-22 in grades K-12 in the disability categories of Intellectual Disability Specific Learning Disability Autism Spectrum Disorder Other Health Impairment Emotional Disturbance Speech or Language Impairment Developmental Delay Multiple Disabilities and Traumatic Brain Injury. Additionally NSM operates a program for adult alumni with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mission: NSM is a learning community committed to preparing individuals with unique and complex challenges for successful lives. We use evidence based practices to promote independence communication social/emotional skills and academic growth within a culture of safety and belonging. Position: NSM is currently seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join a student-centered team to consult on individual IEPs that value the whole child. Guide student programming rooted in real-world participation. Provide direct instruction in social communication self-advocacy reading and writing. Flexibility of hours can be negotiated. A clinical fellowship year may be : Masters degree in communication sciences & disorders or a related field as approved through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Clinical Fellowship Year supervision may be available. A Vermont Educational Speech Pathologist teachers license endorsement is preferred. Must have experience with development and administration of programming for students with significant challenges. Must have excellent written verbal and time management skills. Must have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with school and outside team members and parents/ requirements for this position include:Develop speech and language and literacy IEP components: present levels grade level expectations goals and SLPAs and student support staff (if designated) in the implementation of speech language and literacy programs materials and resources for students.
