Job Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality and compassionate nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform nursing procedures and interventions as needed ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring patient responses.
- Educate patients and their families on health management disease prevention and post-hospitalization care.
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in compliance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior nursing staff and nursing students as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role specifically in a medical-surgical setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing best practices and current clinical standards.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other medical technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
