JOB TITLE: Design Engineer Structures (DEFENSE)
LOCATION: Palmdale CA
PAY RATE: $100/hour

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)
Security Clearance: Active Secret with an investigation in the last 5 years or Continuous Evaluation enrollment required

Summary:

Design develop and test a variety of power plants aircraft missiles and parts with structural efficiency in mind
Establish structural specifications perform basic stress analysis and conduct performance tests
Develop or improve products to support manufacturing operations
Create preliminary layouts sketches and notes for design proposals
Investigate design factors such as manufacturability material availability interchangeability replaceability strength-to-weight efficiency and cost
Coordinate with other organizations impacted by design development
Layout assemblies and detailed parts for devices mechanisms structures and products
Review completed layouts and drawings for clarity completeness compliance with standards and accuracy of calculations and dimensions
Identify design errors omissions and deficiencies recommending revisions and improvements to responsible engineers or designers
Provide MRB support and solutions for design-related issues
Develop practical solutions for complex structural and design problems under general direction

Requirements:

Active Secret clearance (investigation in last 5 years) or CE enrollment
5 years recent experience with CATIA V5
5 years experience in airframe structures design MRB support and structural modifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
