Billing Engineer/Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Billing Engineer/ Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Controller to join our Project Finance team. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the projects of the company including Civil Interior Mechanical electricals and Plumbing. This role requires expertise in cost estimation budgeting tendering procurement and contract administration to ensure projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.

Job Location : Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates based on project designs and requirements.

  • Develop and maintain project budgets ensuring alignment with financial objectives.

  • Monitor and control project costs to prevent budget overruns with the finance team.

2. Tendering and Procurement:

  • Prepare comprehensive tender documents including bills of quantities (BoQ) specifications and drawings.

  • Evaluate tenders and make recommendations for contractor and supplier selection.

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to achieve favourable outcomes. Activities associated with the issue of Purchase Order/Work Order

3. Contract Administration:

  • Administer contracts ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

  • Assess and process variations and amendments to project scope.

  • Evaluate and verify contractor claims for additional payments or time extensions.

4. Cost Control and Monitoring:

  • Track project expenditures and compare with budget forecasts.

  • Prepare regular cost reports or assist the finance team for preparing the costing aspect for submitting to the stakeholders.

5. Measurement and Valuation:

  • Quantify and measure construction works to prepare accurate bills of quantities.

  • Conduct interim valuations of completed work for progress payments.

  • Prepare final accounts and reconcile all project costs.

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Establish and manage contingency plans for cost overruns and unforeseen issues.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions contracts and correspondence.

  • Provide detailed reports and updates on financial performance and project progress.

8. Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws regulations and industry standards.

  • Oversee quality assurance processes to meet required standards and specifications.

9. Client and Stakeholder Liaison:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and provide cost-related advice.

  • Coordinate with architects engineers contractors and other stakeholders.

10. Sustainability and Innovation:

  • Advocate for sustainable and cost-effective construction practices.

  • Explore and implement innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in quantity surveying Construction Management or a related field.

  • Experience in the same vertical for 4 years preferrable

  • Professional certification () is preferred.

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
