The primary role of a Construction Worker is to safely and efficiently perform various physical duties on highway heavy and marine construction projects. The ideal candidate possess the following qualities and skills: Competent and proficient in using small hand tools Enjoys getting dirty and breaking a sweat Communicative Friendly Detail-oriented Team player Strong Time Management Skills Capable of lifting heavy objects Eager to learn Prior experience is a plus Responsibilities: Perform various physical duties assigned Hang dig trenches hand mix/place concrete and set trench bracing. Maintain all safety standards Maintain a clean job site daily: pick-up all tools and equipment secure job site eliminate potential hazards Moves secures installs builds loads or unloads building materials Moves tools equipment or other material from place to place as directed. Perform some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training Assists other craft workers as needed (i.e. equipment operators cement finishers pipe layers). Effectively use/operate a variety of hand tools such as hammers picks rakes and shovels and also power tools such as jackhammers torches skill saws pipe cutters concrete mixer water pumps etc. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old Team player with a positive attitude Pass Pre-employment Assessments (includes BGC MVR drug test & physical) Punctual and reliable Must have the following: valid drivers license TWIC card steel toe work boots reliable transportation the ability to work in all weather the physical ability to complete strenuous tasks the physical ability to stoop kneel crouch or crawl in awkward positions
