Industrial Engineers apply advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and optimize factories to maximize throughput efficiency and value. Industrial Engineers are involved in Capacity Planning Manpower Planning Factory Layout Line Balancing Simulation and Process Modeling Labor Performance Analysis Process Mapping and Project Management.

What You Will Do

Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints improve efficiency and meet or exceed cost quality and on-time delivery goals.
Create process flows value stream maps pareto charts spaghetti diagrams and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes the movement of material the exchange of information and key metrics.
Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory expansion manufacturing technology insertion infrastructure improvements obsolescence mitigation and the integration of new capabilities.
Partner with project managers and other functions to execute projects that modify the factory footprint change the layout of factory equipment and/or add new capability.
Support competitive bids factory proposals business case development for future investments and Make/Buy/Where analyses.
Participate in factory safety and ergonomic improvements.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens
are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with CAD software

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with simulation modeling and capacity analysis
Experience with factory layout and work cell design /optimization
Experience with project management
Experience with CAD software
Six Sigma principles
Lean manufacturing principles
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production employees as they are essential to the development of our products. This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
