Job Summary

Big Stone County is seeking anInformation Technology Support Specialistto work on-site at the Ortonville Government Office. This is a regular full-time position within the IT Department scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. It is a Grade 8 position with a 2025 hourly wage range of $25.99$34.10/hr and includes a full County benefits package.

This position provides front-line technical support and helps analyze maintain and improve the Countys IT systems. Key responsibilities include assisting with system upgrades supporting cloud-based tools maintaining user access and documentation and helping departments use technology more effectively. The support specialist also supports compliance with data privacy standards and works closely with the IT Director on technology planning and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Information Technology or related field and three years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience
Valid Drivers License
Must pass an extensive background check
General understanding of networking cloud tools and system administration
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Certifications such as A Network or Security preferred
Must complete continuing education to stay current with County systems and industry standards

Additional Information:

Serve as the first point of contact for staff needing technical assistance
Support the setup maintenance and troubleshooting of computers printers and mobile devices
Regular weekday hours with occasional evening weekend or holiday work
Travel to various County sites using a County vehicle several times per month
Must be comfortable providing in-person and remote support including training and documentation
This position is a contacted service position between Big Stone County and Countryside Public Health; current contract is valid until 2028.

This position is on site in Ortonville Minnesota and is not eligible for remote work.
