The Computer Systems Engineers role is to ensure the stability integrity and efficient operation of the information systems that support core Legislative Branch functions. This position will be one of a seven-member systems engineering team supporting the Branchs IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will primarily supporting the Branchs Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and systems as well as the applications and services supporting our production applications especially the legislatures bill drafting and management application and associated web applications. Knowledge of and experience in RHEL Linux BASH shell Python scripting language and applications such as Ansible Git GitLab Jenkins and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana are required. Experience with server compute and storage hardware virtual server administration networking and Windows Server administration is preferred but not required. A training assignment may be considered for a qualified and capable candidate.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field plus six (6) or more years of systems/networking experience in a multi-platform environment. OR an equivalent amount of education and experience. Red Hat Linux certifications/training preferred.
This position is eligible for telework for up to two days per week. The employee must reside in Helena Montana and be able to come into the office regularly
