Job Summary

Position Summary

The Maritime Program Coordinator will assist in the coordination of the Alabama Maritime Consortium Project at the College. This role involves oversight of facility renovations equipment procurement employer engagement and student recruitment into the maritime industry. Serving as the liaison between the College the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) and maritime and defense industry partners this role plays a pivotal part in strengthening the Gulf Coast maritime workforce pipeline. The coordinator will ensure successful project implementation compliance budget management and industry collaboration.

Grant-Funded (ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule C3 $56500 annually). Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. This is a non-tenure track position Non-Probationary Status cannot be obtained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan execute and monitor all project activities in alignment with consortium timelines and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and grant requirements while maintaining budgets and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop communication strategies to engage college teams ACCS representatives and industry partners through meetings calls and written updates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with maritime and defense employers trade organizations and community partners to enhance program relevance and create internship and employment pathways for students.
  • Design and implement student recruitment and outreach strategies targeting high schools community groups and the general public.
  • Oversee equipment purchases installation and maintenance for programs in welding pipefitting structural fitting and pipe welding; ensure compliance with safety and instructional standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty to align program curricula with current industry standards and workforce demands.
  • Collect and analyze program data track student outcomes and prepare performance assessments for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate community events workshops and seminars highlighting program offerings and student achievements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation necessary for audits reports and evaluations.

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in business project management industrial technology engineering or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining partnerships with industry and community organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Experience with workforce training grant-funded projects or technical program coordination is preferred.
