As anAssistant Account Executive(AAE)youllwork with high-profile clients to create innovative newsworthy campaigns for top brands and will play a key role in supporting communications plan development research client tracking and reporting and media outreach to consumer trade and other types of media. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented collaborative a problem solver at heart andhasstrong media relations and storytelling musthave exceptional communication and interpersonal skills witha strong foundationin media relations and a pulse on consumer and industry trends especially inthetravelfinancial services lifestyleentertainmentand/or fashion spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Learn Edelmans various consulting processes/approaches including integrated communications media relations consumer engagement trend monitoring brand collaborations social media and digital campaigns and support account teams in the execution of these processes for clients
- Understand key client information including business strategy products and services key customers and competitors
- Outline write edit and proofread materials specifically media lists pitches product key messages fact sheets talk tracks media briefing documents and more
- Build and foster ongoing relationships with key media
- Conduct media outreach and follow up in alignment with pitch calendar and agile opportunities
- Support account teams in daily activities including media monitoring and reporting research media relations content development project and process tracking and asset management and inventory.
- Research trackmonitorand report all coverage associated with client campaigns ongoing initiatives competitor news industry trends and more.
- Coordinate details for brand collaborations and press & influencer events including securing attendees staffing events drafting briefing books and preparing recap reports
- Provide client service administration including preparing client status and activity reports attending meetings and conference calls compiling notes and action items scheduling andlogistics
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram TikTok Facebook Twitter YouTube etc.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the social media industry and influencer marketing
- Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelmans values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Basic Qualifications:
- 0-1 year of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields
- A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previousinternship experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields including research advertising management consultingmediaor publishing
- Strong interpersonalorganizationaland written and oral communications skills
- Ability to adapt to new conditionsdeadlinesand assignments
- Solid knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Demonstrates strong work ethic and the ability to provide quality work to clients and teams
